Stop the Bleed is a nationwide campaign aimed at teaching everyone how to stop bleeding and save lives in an emergency. No matter how rapid the arrival of professional emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes, so it is important to quickly stop the blood loss. Armed with a little knowledge, a family member, coworker or even a bystander can be the difference between life and death.     • Third trimester pregnancy
    • Labor and delivery (premature labor, stages and phases of labor, medical interventions, cesarean delivery and support person roles)

    Please note, this is not a Lamaze class.

    Registration requirements include:

    • Patient must have a University Medicine Associate or UT Health obstetrician
    • Patient must plan to deliver at University Hospital
    • Patient must be at least 28-weeks pregnant when attending this class
    • Patient must have her doctor's approval to participate in this class
    • Patients with high-risk conditions should not register for this class

    The University Health System Asthma Coalition for the Community Team (ACCT) will provide a 1-hour education class to parents on help with managing asthma and proper use of medications as well as recognition and prevention of symptoms.
